Behavior Plan
Classroom Behavior Plan
Student behavior will be tracked on a paw print clip chart. All students begin the day on green which is labeled “Doggone Ready To Learn.” Clips are moved up or down depending on behavior that the student displays. There are five choices on the behavior chart.
Purple Paw – “Best in Show” – This level is only for students who show exceptional control and respect throughout the day. This level will not be easy to attain. Students will be given a behavior sheet with 5 dogs on it. Each time they achieve this level, they will color a dog. When all 5 dogs have been colored, your child will get a prize from the “Doggie Bag!”
Green Paw – “Doggone Ready to Learn”- All students begin the day on this level. This is a wonderful level to stay on throughout the day.
Please praise your student anytime they stay on this level.
Yellow Paw - “Paws to Ponder” – Students move to this level as a reminder to follow our class and school rules.
Orange Paw - “Barking up the Wrong Tree” – Students who move to this level will sit in “The Thinking Spot” to think about their actions.
Red Paw - “In the Doghouse” – Students who move to the red paw level will have a note sent home. This note needs to be signed and returned to school the next day. They may also have time taken away from fun activities like free choice centers, recess or other priviliges.
-If the student’s behavior goes beyond the red paw print, a phone call will be made to the parents and/or a conference with Mrs. Kimmel or Mr. Ridley.
